There is nobility in being human.

That’s what we studied this past weekend. That’s also what we feel deep down inside.  Well, if that’s true, then what happened? Why does it all feel so dysfunctional, chaotic, and even deeply wrong?

Because we have “shattered the image” that we were created to be.

Homework

Here is your homework assignment as we prepare for this weekend.

As you prepare for this coming Sunday morning, read these passages:

Memorize

I am asking you to memorize this critical verse:

Genesis 3:15
“I will put hostility between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Meet and Discuss

October 11 discussion guide

I am pleading with us all to take the discussion questions and carefully think through this amazing story of the Bible. It is not just a story of Adam and Eve’s rebellion, but it is at the core of making sense of our chaotic world and chaotic personal lives. I believe that if you don’t spend your life applying this story, your life will never make sense. The story’s deeply-rooted theological truth is essential in what you do with your life. And most important, that foundational truth will open the door to your knowledge of and relationship with this Jesus that we are coming to know.

We know of Adam and Eve. But do you know yourself? Do you understand the shattered aspects of your life? Do you know of the powerful story of Jesus, the “second Adam”?

See you Sunday morning at 10 a.m., through one of our three doors:
