Missions

At LifeWay, we believe that God has called us to serve both inside and outside the walls of the church. Reaching outside the walls is what we call missions. Our goal in missions is to reach the world for Jesus Christ one person at a time. We do that by connecting with people, loving them and serving them. Whenever there are opportunities, we share the good news about Jesus.

Across the Street and Around the World

In Acts 1:8, Jesus gave his followers the blueprint for missions. At LifeWay, we use this to organize our areas of involvement outside the walls of the church.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8

For us, Jerusalem represents our city and the surrounding area. Judea represents our nation, especially the Pacific Northwest region. Samaria represents the cross-cultural opportunities that we have right here at home. The ends of the earth represent our involvement internationally. For each of these areas of involvement, we have a missions team headed by volunteer leaders as well as partnerships guided by local champions.

Cross-Cultural Missions

There are several key cross-cultural opportunities that we have identified.. Global Impact Celebration

The Global Impact Celebration (GIC) is an annual, multi-day, churchwide celebration of what God has done and is doing around the world each year through LifeWay. For several days in the fall, through group gatherings, workshops, shared meals, and worship services, church and community members are invited to get to know a panel of global guests (i.e. missionaries). We get to hear their stories and find out how God is using regular people—just like us—to love others, elevate his name…

International Missions

Through International Missions, LifeWay affirms that Jesus called us to make disciples of all nations. While any individual church family can’t reach into every people group, we have taken up responsibility for certain people and places around the world. We do this through strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations. Russia Since Russia opened up in the early 1990s, LifeWay has seized opportunities to support and encourage believers to serve and engage their own communities. We continue to support partners doing…
