Sundays at 9 & 10:45

At LifeWay, we believe that God has called us to serve both inside and outside the walls of the church. Reaching outside the walls is what we call missions. Our goal in missions is to reach the world for Jesus Christ one person at a time. We do that by connecting with people, loving them and serving them. Whenever there are opportunities, we share the good news about Jesus.

Across the Street and Around the World

In Acts 1:8, Jesus gave his followers the blueprint for missions. At LifeWay, we use this to organize our areas of involvement outside the walls of the church.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8

Jerusalem was the city where they were when Jesus spoke to his followers. For LifeWay, our Jerusalem is Federal Way and NE Tacoma.

Judea was the region or nation that included the city of Jerusalem. For LifeWay, our “Judea” is the Pacific Northwest and the United States.

Samaria was right near Jerusalem, geographically, but the people were a different culture that made communication and acceptance difficult. For the people of LifeWay, there are many different cultures living right in our city and region. We consider these groups our “Samaria”.

Jesus said that his followers will be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. At LifeWay, we are reaching out to specific places around the world.

For each of these areas of involvement, there are missions teams headed by volunteer leaders. Within each there are several partnerships headed by team champions.
