Cross-Cultural Missions

Cross-Cultural Missions

LifeWay Church actively serves the many languages and cultures within the greater Federal Way community by reaching out with welcoming friendship and practical help that communicates God’s love. There are several key cross-cultural opportunities that we have identified..

International Students

Friends of International Students (FIS) is a community of LifeWay Church members and Green River College students dedicated to advancing multicultural friendships and building bridges of understanding with students from more than 40 countries. During regular meetings near the campus, students are invited to play friendship building-games, participate in cultural activities, practice English conversation, and share a meal. During the pandemic, leaders have tried to remain in contact and support students virtually.

ESL classes

While many partnerships have been affected by COVID restrictions, LifeWay recognizes the opportunity to serve and connect with many families in our community through English language learning. We have offered English language practice groups, homework help, language learning lessons at apartment communities or through school partnerships.

Church Planting

In a partnership that is both international and cross-cultural, LifeWay is excited to support Rafael and Sarah Araujo as they work to plant Christian communities among Spanish and Portuguese speakers in the greater Vancouver, BC area. Even in the midst of pandemic restrictions, their congregation at Burnaby Born Again is reaching out to share Christ with new neighborhoods, and even family contacts in South America through their online platforms. Visit BurnabyBornAgain.ca for more information.
