Followers of Jesus must not condemn themselves by what we approve that is “anti” to the gospel. John’s instructions here in this passage seem harsh, but it actually comes from a deep desire for the people he loves to live and glorify Christ. If we are to walk in love, we cannot be indifferent to truth.
