Made for Worship

Made for Worship

“I don’t worship. You Christians and religious people worship. I love nature. I believe in science. I only accept that which can be proved.” We all have heard this or some form of this. But is it true that the non-believer, the atheist, or the naturalist does not worship?

The truth of the matter is that we all worship. The question is not if we worship, but who or what we worship? Worship comes from the Old English words “worth” and “ship.” Whatever or whomever we give worth or value to most is the object of our worship.

This Sunday we continue in our GIC series Made for This. Last week, we saw that we were made for relationship from Genesis 1-2. This week, we will see that we were made for worship from Revelation 4. (Uh oh, that weird book with monsters, dragons, and flying angels!!) Come and gather with the church, and let us discover the answers to two questions together: 1) Who do we worship? and 2) Why do we worship?

I encourage you to read the chapter. Meditate on a verse or two. Pray and ask the Lord, “what might you have for me?” He may teach you all that you need even before you come! Let us consider the words of Hebrew 10:24-25:

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

LifeWay family, I am praying for you every Sunday. I am eager to be with you, again.

Together in Christ,

Tim
