J-Family
N and his wife, M, both have extensive experience traveling and working in foreign countries. However, they met and were launched into their current ministry at Discovery Community Church in Tacoma. They currently work for a media team making films about what God is doing in a closed region of the world. Their purpose is to support church planting through films that mobilize and educate the global church, and that communicate the gospel to people groups in that closed region. N and M share two daughters (ages 10 and 12), but also have 7 adult children!

Sarah T
Sarah serves as the Executive Director of Lighthouse NW, a local mission ministry working to break the cycle of abuse one relationship at a time. God birthed the mission of Lighthouse NW out of her own family’s battle to break the cycle of abuse and build a thriving new life in Christ. After 13 years of ministry, Sarah and her team know that change and a new life are possible through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and a supportive community. Lighthouse provides resources (like training for prevention and intervention) and services (like their Abuse and Trauma Recovery Program) to families, churches, and the community. Sarah and her husband, Chad, have four young-adult children, and attend the Mountain Church in Federal Way.

Ezekiel and Abigail W
While Abigail grew up on the mission field in Africa, Ezekiel grew up in the majority religion in his country and did not become a believer until 2015. They met in a large city in the Middle East and began serving together, before getting married two years later. After serving several years in the Middle East, Ezekiel and Abigail moved to the United States to work with refugees. They now serve Afghan refugees, as well as working with Afghan believers around the world to provide worship music, audio Bible stories, and family discipleship materials. Ezekiel and Abigail have 4 children, and are expecting a baby this winter.

Scott and Diane J – GIC Alumni
Scott and Diane both grew up a s a part of the LifeWay family, traveling to help with kids camps in Bryansk, Russia. After studying theology and Russian in college, they chose to make ministry to Russian-speakers their life’s work. After planting churches in Bryansk and Novosibirsk, they were forced out of the country with the onset of the war against Ukraine. They have continued to plant churches among Russian speakers, many of whom have fled to countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and into East Asia. Next year, they plan to relocate to Central Asia with their two daughters (ages 4 and 1), in order to better coordinate the church planting efforts across the region.

Kevin P – GIC Alumni
After meeting in college, Kevin and his wife, Rachel felt called to work with refugees, and began asking the Lord where to live out this calling. Despite delays from COVID (which included time leading youth ministry at LifeWay!), they eventually settled in a large city in the Middle East. They are working to learn the Afghan Uzbek language spoken by a people group in Northern Afghanistan, as well as Dari to better communicate with more people from Afghanistan. They are now part of an Afghan house church, and are working toward a new Afghan church in another city in their country. Kevin and Rachel share two boys (ages 3 and 1), with one more on the way this winter!
