Chaos in the King’s House

Chaos in the King’s House

Last week in Psalm 2 we took a close look at the rebellious nature of the nations who have set themselves in active rebellion against God, the True King who loves them. This week in Psalm 3 we find that the rebellion has come home to House of the King. In this third Song of the King we find our first Psalm of David. It is a Psalm of Lament, a song of tears, in which we find King David grieving over the rebellion of his son Absalom and the threat of a kingdom in chaos. We will follow in his footsteps of David as he grieves the conflict in his house, finds comfort and courage in God’s faithfulness, and cries out in faith to the God who saves. As we do so, let’s make sure to ask these relevant questions: Am I facing enemies in my own life? Am I grieving over the chaos of rebellion? How can this Song of the King teach me to behave when I feel that I am under siege by my enemy? Let’s climb the mountain with King David and sing this song together.
