Creation to New Creation

Creation to New Creation

For the past five years, we at Lifeway Church have spent the majority of our academic school year preaching sermons on Sunday morning with a major theme. And we’ve been using some very specific places in scripture that guide us to understanding and applying the Word of God. Five years ago as we began this journey, I told you that we had a five-year plan at that time. We have now completed the five years, but we are now adding a sixth year. I certainly will not be the only one teaching this, and of course, having added Tim Kim to our team. He will be doing many of these as well this year. I cannot tell you how excited I am to begin this series of messages that should take us through the end of spring and maybe the beginning of summer.

We are giving the title of this series for the school year, “ Creation to New Creation.”

I have the privilege of beginning this series for us this coming Sunday. In order to best prepare for this. I’m going to ask you to spend some time in Genesis chapter 1 and the creation story. My focus of attention for this week will actually only be that first verse. You will likely recognize it, but that first verse is, “In the beginning God created the heavens in the Earth.”  That simple phrase is jammed packed and loaded with truth that we often miss. This is how I’m going to begin the series this Sunday, and I will lay the foundation for the few months ahead. It’s going to be a wonderful year in the Word of God.

Just so you know, we will be ending the series in the Book of Revelation and at the very end of that book, I’m asking you to contemplate on the  title that we’re giving this whole year of messages, “Creation to New Creation“.  I’ll take the time Sunday morning to unpack that as well. I can’t wait for this new year to begin.

We’ll see you Sunday morning.
