High Impact Church-Part 3

Pastor Don Turner continues the series “High Impact Church” with this third message, looking at Acts 2:22-41. This message, titled “The Power of the Gospel”, draws us into a look at the beginnings of the early church as Peter boldly proclaims The Gospel. Peter points out that The Messiah, whose coming the Jews had studied and looked for, had indeed come. He proves that the same Jesus they had ridiculed and crucified, was truly their Messiah, and although they had killed him, it was all part of God’s plan. Just as those listening then, all people in the world, recognizing the truth, have a decision to make: to accept Jesus as the promised Messiah to all and change our lives in commitment to Him. In Acts, we see that some left (not ready to change their lives), while some believed and went out preaching the gospel, influencing the rapid growth of the church. What will your decision be?

Choosing God in the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The new year – it’s a time when resolutions are made, and just as quickly broken. Pastor Mike Freeman brings a message of choices to faithfully follow God in daily life in an ever-changing environment of good, bad and ugly. The biblical example he draws is from 2 Kings 7, an ugly time of famine during the Syrian siege of Israel. In the midst of the siege, the prophet Elijah predicts God’s deliverance and amazing bounty in a matter of one day.  Learn how the characters of this story made good and bad choices to believe in, or scoff at, God’s providence, and, as a result, paid the consequences of unbelief or enjoyed the blessings of doing right. A Study of Ephesians: So Act Like A Christian!

It’s a common question, “If I’m a new creation in Christ, why don’t I act like it?” From Ephesians 4:17-32, we learn that throwing off the old, sinful nature requires turning away from the destructive habits of the old nature. In this session, Pastor Don Turner expounds upon the lifestyle God wants us to lead by describing how not to act like the irreligious, but instead to act like the new creation you are.

A Study of Ephesians Living Worthy of Grace

In the first three chapters of Ephesians, we have studied the magnitude of blessings Christ has given to the Church for the purpose of being his earthly manifestation. The theme of chapters 4 through 6 is application, or as Pastor Don Turner states, “In light of all Jesus has done, how should we live?” In Ephesians 4:1-6, learn four characteristics that make up a life worthy of Christ’s calling. A Study of Ephesians “Prayer for Inner Power”

Have you ever stopped to realize that God is willing to do far more through you than you realize? It’s true, and it’s recorded by the Apostle Paul in two powerful prayers in the book of Ephesians. The first prayer, in Chapter 1, was for the Ephesians to know the power they possessed in God, and in Chapter 3: 14-21 to use that power for God’s glory. In this session, Pastor Don Turner highlights how Paul’s prayer provides a roadmap for you become the fullness of God’s glory and expression in the world. LifeWay Church Christmas Festival with Living Nativity

Posted on Dec 21 , 2010 in Events

Travelers come from far and wide to watch the beautiful Christmas Story of the birth of Jesus.  Since this 30 minute re-enactment is mostly outdoors, we recommend bundling up well including mittens, scarves, & Santa hats!  We will have hot drinks for you when you arrive back from your tour.

We also recommend arriving about 30 minutes before your scheduled tour.  This gives you time to park, check-in, & meander around the new Christmas Festival area.

Four special Living Nativity shows are being presented Christmas evening at 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. so that attendees can join us for evening services after each show.

We invite you and your family to join us Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during a beautiful candlelight service.
